This intermediate level course is designed for systems administrators or anyone who wishes to gain skills in computer forensics and information security incident response. The course is available for anyone engaged in collecting, seizure, examining and analysis of forensic data.

Prerequisites

Knowledgeable experience of networked systems, information security and systems administration is required.

Course Description

This five-day course is comprised of lecture, up to 15 hours of labs, and team scenarios. The course is designed primarily for technical staff whose job responsibility is or will be to perform, collect, seize or examine forensic evidence for information system related crimes and incidents. The course will provide participants with an intermediate level understanding of the computer forensics process, and forensic best practices.

The course will present the InfoSecure CEA Forensic MethodologyTM for a complete forensic investigation. Designed around real-life scenarios, the course will provide participants with practical techniques and hands-on experience in conducting and completing foreign investigation.

Beginning with the necessary background in computer architecture and information storage, can continuing with a complete implementation of the Infosecure CEA Forensic MethodologyTM for seizure, collection, examination and analysis of forensic data, this course will provide the training necessary to become a skilled forensic examiner.

Course Materials

Participants will receive a course binder and a CD containing lecture slides and other material, and a notebook computer loaded with the tools used in the class.
